A: The Program is continuously growing and expanding. Currently curriculum is completed for the lower levels of JLPT (N5 and N4) and higher levels are under development. Each week new lessons are being added to the program so it is nearly impossible to "catch up". Completing one lesson per week studying about 2.5hours per day, reaching N5 level will take less than 6 months, N4 one year, N3 one-and-a-half years, N2 two and a half years, N1 three to four years.
There is no start date. You can join at anytime. The Live Online Sessions are run in a way that it is possible for participants to be at different levels of ability, and different places in the curriculum.
A: Full access to the original Japanese for Muslims program which includes vocabulary, grammar, and cultural lessons in text, audio and video form. Also included is a 1-hour class each week at a convenient time teaching both cultural and contextual elements of Japanese Communication as well as speaking practice using a Task Based Learning system. You will be given special access to live meet ups and information from the Japanese Muslim Community.
There a three pricing options:
A reoccurring subscription fee of 8,800JPY per month.
A yearly reoccuring subscription fee of 96,800JPY per year.
Currently enrolled students (who can present a current Student ID) receive a discounted rate of 6,600JPY per month.
A: There are limited sponsorships available for serious students that show high academic achievement, demonstrate a strong personal investment in the betterment of the Japanese Muslim Community and can provide a reasonable explanation behind why they wish to be sponsored for this program. Applicants for financial assistance must be officially involved in local Masjid or Dawah activities, and may be asked for a recommendation letter.
A: You can complete the application HERE and receive a response usually within 24 hours. Upon a successful application, you will be provided with a letter of acceptance as well as a payment link. After payment has been made you will be granted access to the Classroom and to our weekly calls and can begin you studies!
The subscription renewal date will be set as the date that you first paid. In order to cancel your subscription, you can either manage your own subscription on the subscription page provided to you -OR- use the cancellation form found on the "Contact" page of the Muslim Minority homepage. Subscription Cancellations must be submitted at least 5 business days before the renewal date. Retroactive cancellations and refunds will not be available.
A: Refunds are not available. Subscription cancellations received after the due date are not eligible for refund.
Subscribers to the 1-year subscription plan are given a 7-day money back guarantee only for the first charge in the first year. Following renewals are not eligible for refund.
A: While the calls themselves are mixed, any group work utilizes breakout sessions in which sisters and brothers will be separated into different groups. Generally speaking there is no direct interaction between genders.
We ask ask all students to observe proper rules of hijab (which includes brothers!) , and while we ask brothers to keep cameras on, sisters are free to (and encouraged to) keep their cameras off.
As the number of sisters grows, we will be looking to hire sister instructors and split the communities entirely, in sha Allah.
A: Live sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9:00 PM and another session on Saturdays from 7-8:00AM. When you first sign up you will be asked which session times work for you, and then you will be assigned a regular class based upon your availability. If you ever need to change your regular class or do a make-up class for a Speaking Session that you missed please use the Contact form found on the homepage.
